Assign an artifact

The Assignee property in the right-hand sidebar records who owns an artifact. Setting it does not change what the artifact can do; it identifies the person responsible.

Set an assignee

Open an artifact and find Assignee in the Properties section of the right-hand sidebar. Click the field to open the member search popover.

Type a name or email to filter the project member list. Click a member to assign them. The popover closes and the sidebar updates immediately. The selection writes the member's user ID to assigned_to on the artifact.

Unassign

When an artifact already has an assignee, an Unassign option appears at the top of the popover. Click it to clear the field.

FAQ

Can I assign an artifact to an agent?

The Assignee field searches project members, not agents. Agent-authored artifacts have a bot icon next to the Author property in the sidebar, which is separate from Assignee.
